Social Media Advertisements…

This morning, when I was searching for the exact weight of my book to send the specimen copies to the University’s library, I saw that amazon.de had only one copy left in stock and asked me to hurry up with my order… Hence, the book appears to sell pretty well. However, after the publication of my book, the publisher also started to advertise it on their social media channels:

Point of no return

It’s done. It’s really done. The final edition of my manuscript has been sent to the publisher and got approved for publication now!

Following weeks of additional layout work, last week I got informed that the manuscript will now be prepared for the printing and there’s nothing left for me to do except waiting for the final product. The point of no return is reached. My book will be published in July!

Additionally, the publisher has already started the advertisement of the book. It’s already available for pre-ordering on different book-seller’s webpages and I hope that it will sell accordingly! You can order your copy here. Do it. Now. 😉

And one more thing: I think the book cover looks amazing! It was also suggested by me ;-). I put some thoughts into the question how the topic of my project (mainly discrimination of people with disabilities) could be set correctly into a picture without serving the usual clichés. I actually found the cover picture (a black and white picture of a staircase in the sunlight) on pixabay.com and realized that it makes the perfect shot for the cover. Staircases were reported as discriminations of all people who use wheelchairs regardless of their social class background in my study and the chosen picture looks a little bit like a ying and yang sign…

Announcement…

I’m very happy and more than delighted to finally announce that my PhD-thesis will be published as a decent book in August 2018!

After editing the draft for one more time throughout 2017, it was finally accepted by my reviewers and they strongly advised me to search for a publisher instead of just publishing it on the university’s library website. I’m very proud that eventually even two publishers showed a huge interest for my draft and offered me a contract for publication.

The book will hit the shelves in August 2018 and will be published by the renowned German publisher named “transcript Verlag”. The book (in German language) will be available around the globe, sell for less than 30€ a copy and will contain around 300 pages of great stuff to read. Beside a hardcopy there will also be an e-book version available. To say it one more time: I’m soooo happy that this is finally going to happen and I’m already excited to get the book reviewed and read by a few more people.
